Hathurusinghe fired as Sri Lanka coach on eve of New Zealand series

The relationship between the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Chandika Hathur Singh is now on paper. New Zealand has appeared in Lanka to play Test series. Hathurusing has not been entrusted with the series, but former fast bowler Ramesh Ratnanayake will now serve as the team's coach.

SLC has not agreed to comment directly on whether Hathur Singh will be sacked. But today, the party's announcement against New Zealand has clearly indicated that they are no longer counting on Hathorusinghe. Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews and Niroshan Decavela were sent to the Gaul Test on August 7. Except for Mathews, the two were dropped from the Sri Lankan team under Hathur Singh.

Sri Lanka beat South Africa as their first Asian team earlier this year. That historic squad did not fit in with last year's Chandimal-led team. Niroshan Dickwella was dropped from the World Cup squad at the very last minute. Meanwhile, Mathews, who was unable to play in South Africa due to an ankle injury, is back in the Test series against New Zealand. The SLC called for the three men to announce a possible separation with Hathur Singh.

All three are currently facing major changes against New Zealand. Spinner Laxan Sandakan, Aquila Dhananjaya and Lasith Mbuldenia have also entered the squad. The Sri Lankan board had earlier said that Hathur would have no involvement in the series. In the meanwhile, Chandika Hathurusingha reminded a number of philosophical comments on Twitter, 'The little ones become merciful one day. No matter how small you were in the beginning ... '
